Recent Happenings - some English for everyone!

(This is a picture taken by somebody else. It has been our computer wallpaper at times.)

A thousand apologies to those of you who have been waiting for English! We have truly neglected this beautiful language (except for that superbly fascinating interview! J), so now we aim to make up for this.

Life has been treating us nicely. We are truly happy and grateful for each other and our current life. We are busy and are working a lot, but we have fun too.

Recently we went to see Scary Movie 4. Well, the reviews from us aren’t that good. Frankly, I was really disappointed. I don’t know how many of you know Dr Phil McGraw though, who is a life strategist/psychologist in the USA and starred in this movie. I really appreciate his helpful and clever, easily comprehensible advice to so many millions through his regular TV shows and books. Without continuing to preach about him too much, we were really surprised to see him in this movie, especially after hearing his lines. But we enjoyed that part!

Our other recent experience was a night out together last Friday. It was a surprise all planned by Dodi. We went to a theatre restaurant called Witches in Britches. It was a lot of fun! The whole place is spooky, professionally designed to scare and at the same time entertain people. This is why it’s such a popular place, mainly for people our age. At the entrance there was a sign saying “Enter early and we’ll feed you to the rats” – or something like that. Witches and warlocks are the staff. The whole place is set so you feel like you’re in a castle. Next to a three-course dinner we saw performers impersonating Hannibal Lecter, Ozzie Osbourne and his wife, 50 Cent, Christina Aguilera, Paris Hilton, etc. through costumes and songs. They changed lyrics of popular music to make them sound hilarious (and very truthful). So we sometimes cried from laughter!

We plan to go to the Queen Victoria Market on Sunday morning. We’re going to buy Dodi’s Dad a birthday present from there and browse around. We’ve never been there together before. It’s one of the well-known tourist attractions. You guys can have a look at their website. They have everything, including little ducklings for sale as pets! So we’ll probably have a nice breakfast there and some cappuccino. The latter will only be enjoyed by me, as a few of you know, Dodi doesn’t drink coffee.

On Monday morning we’re leaving for a special two days of relaxation, which is a surprise destination for Dodi. The whole experience is his nameday present. We weren’t able to arrange it earlier due to work. I can’t say anymore for obvious reasons, but we’ll fill you in on the details once we come back! We also want to take plenty of pictures again, especially because everything’s so colourful this time of year…So many trees are changing colours. It makes me notice how many European trees are planted in the streets and in the parks… It’s beautiful!

Take care everyone!

Bye for now
